Optical Phase Array Driving Circuit

Students: Sean R. Samuelson
Advisor: Huikai Xie, University of Florida
Sponsor(s): AFRL

Objectives

Create driving circuit to amplify variably defined waveform.

Develop feedback loop to maintain in phase reflection.

Use amplified waveform via MEMs array to steer a laser beam as a means of traditional radar substitution.

Technical Approach

          LabVIEW to define waveform.

Employ driving circuit with safety checks.

Kalman Filter for feedback loop that adjusts DC offset to maintain in phase reflection.

Accomplishment

Created driving circuit for single mirror

Applications:

Drive Optical Phase Array for radar applications in military context
