Low Power, Low Noise Interface Circuits for Integrated Accelerometers and Gyroscopes

Low-power consumption and low noise are two critical factors for integrated accelerometers and gyroscopes to lead to wide applications in consumer electronics, such as camcorders, PDAs, mobile phones and wearable human health monitoring systems. We achieved low noise (24nV/rtHz) with low power (<1mW) by using a continuous-time, chopper-stabilization-based interface circuit architecture.

The block diagram of the low-power, low-noise interface circuit and a die photo of the prototype of an integrated 3-axis accelerometer are shown here.
